Abstract (EN)

The aim of research, ?Observation of Clothing Habits through Cultural Change in terms of the Privacy? is; to identify factors that affected clothing patterns of Turkish origin individuals sharing the same religion from Turkey and Kazakhstan in the process of cultural change, to reveal how wear samples of women were affected by privacy.The population of the study consists of 768 Muslim women, between the ages of 22 - 45, in the city of Astana in borders of Kazakhstan and city of Ankara within the borders of Turkey. Survey forms were applied to women in age range of 22-45 years, who were included to the research. Results having no connection to any variable were analyzed and used for preparing frequency tables. At the second stage, one-way (ANOVA) variance analysis results were interpreted to observe the existence of relation between the variables determined in hypothesis. According to the research results obtained;In relation to factors of privacy; Turkish women reported conservative views than Kazak women. In terms of privacy Turkish women feel more comfortable themselves with plenty clothes, they stated that clothing is an indicator of a person's social status, that environmental factors affect clothing selection, and that clothing must be in vogue. In Kazakhstan in terms of privacy women feel more comfortable with tight clothes, they stated that selection of clothing can be affected by friends, that they want to have clothing appropriate to fashion, and clothes are tool for displaying the beauty of body.In relation to socio-psychological and beliefs regarding factors; In terms of factors of religion and social-psychology we came to the conclusion that women of both countries have the same views,attitudes and manner in clothing.In relation to cultural factors; Both women from Turkey and Kazakhstan affected by region's cultural structures and traditions of the clothing, and this bond is sometimes seen to be effective in selecting clothing preferences. Culturally women in Turkey as well as in Kazakhstan feel more comfortable in plenty clothes, they expressed that they want clothing reflect their religious and moral values, also that clothing is a protection tool for religious and moral values. In addition, it is seen that clothing choice of women in Kazakhstan is affected by environmental factors whereas in Turkey affecting factor is religion.
