A linguistic study on the contexts of terms related to the sky in the Qur'an

Many different studies have been conducted on the Qur'an in various fields. For example, exegetes have carried out exegetical studies, taking into account concepts such as context, circumstances of revelation, and reasons for revelation in order to understand the verses fully and correctly. In addition, linguists have also examined the Qur'an in terms of grammar, morphology, parallelism, antithesis, common expressions, and rhetoric. In recent times, the theory referred to as context has also found its place in Qur'anic studies. The subject of this study is "The Linguistic Analysis of Terms Related to Nature in the Holy Qur'an." The aim is to examine the contexts and meanings of the sky and related entities in the Qur'an from a linguistic perspective. The study consists of an introduction, three chapters, and a conclusion. The introduction discusses the subject, purpose, importance, methodology, limitations, and sources used in the research. The first chapter addresses context and its types under the heading of context theory, as well as topics related to context in the Qur'an. The second chapter discusses two topics in the Qur'an: semâ, meaning "sky," and its plural form, semavât, meaning "skies." The third chapter discusses celestial elements in the Qur'an. Under this heading, the topics of the Sun, Moon, stars, constellations, and clouds are addressed. The conclusion section presents the findings and conclusions reached. The study utilizes classical Arabic dictionaries and commentaries, as well as modern commentaries and research, to demonstrate the compatibility of the verses with the data of modern science. Thus, the study examines the kevnî verses within the field of Arabic Language and Rhetoric using a linguistic and contextual approach, aiming to serve as a guide for researchers working in this field.
