The Quran's view on children's rights

The main purpose of the religion of Islam is to protect the religion called zarûrat-ı hamse, life, progeny, property and mind. Among these, the protection of the generation has a special importance for the continuation of other purposes. For religion to survive and society to continue, the generation must continue. The continuation of the generation can be achieved with children. Because children are the guarantee of our future. Children, who are the guarantee of our future, have rights over us and if these rights are not observed and fulfilled, great resentments can be caused in the societies. The correct determination and implementation of these rights is very important for the order and future of societies. The Qur'an gives special importance to children's rights for the continuation of the generation and the survival of the society. In our study, we examine the rights brought by the Qur'an for the child, the importance that Islam and the Qur'an give to the concept of rights, that children should have rights before they are born, and that the child has these rights. We emphasized the importance of identifying and applying it. We divided our work into two chapters. In the first part, under the title of "children and rights in the Qur'an": We touched upon the view of Islam towards children and talked about their evaluations about the child. In addition, we have explained the concepts of children and rights in the Qur'an by making use of tafsir and dictionaries. We gave general information about children's rights and completed this title. In the second part, under the title of "Rights granted by the Qur'an to the child", we have explained the rights of the child, which we have determined from the Qur'an, by making use of the commentaries. In order to explain these rights, we have benefited from narration, wisdom, early period commentaries and modern period interpretations. While making use of these commentaries, we took care to look at our basic sources and the originals of the books. In short, our main aim in this study is to try to explain children's rights, which we have determined based on the verses, by making use of commentaries.
