Abstract (EN)

To comprehend and compose the approach required by the holy Qur'an and display the closest attitude, it is of great significance to know Qur'an itself. This is possible by knowing its names and attributes. Qur'an has many names. Some of them are mentioned clearly in divine statements of God. Others consist either of Prophetic traditions or expressions, contained by Qur'an, stated to emphasize its definition. In this thesis words that are known as name of the holy Qur'an are primarily elaborated upon from a literary point of view. Special emphasize is place on their dictionary meanings and on related terms. First period dictionaries are taken as basis for literary discussion to the extent possible. Then, in case of need, reference is made to poetical couplets composed in pre-Islamic era known as the era of ignorance. In addition, to determine the meanings of the words during the revelation period, Qur'an itself, linguistic tafsir sources and other Qur'an-centric sources are used. As a result of this study, we have observed that words used as names of the Qur'an are intense in meaning, they are united in purpose and possess a beautiful form of expression. Furthermore, one could say that names of Qur'an reflect its content and are in possession of qualities necessary to attract the attention of the interlocutors. Moreover, names of the Qur'an are largely parallel to the names of Allah Almighty, who descended Qur'an as a source of mercy to his servants. Keywords: Arabic Language, Qur'an, The Book, Name, Adjective, Zikr.
