The handling of attitudes towards Prophets in the Qur'anic stories in Emalılı Tafsir

Throughout history, many prophets have been sent by Allah to reform societies and to convey the true religion. From the perspective of Qur'an, it has been understood that the first message in the comminuques is to remind societies that stary from the right path that polytheism is süperstitions and to emphasize tawhid, which is the essence of all divine religions. The tribes denied all of them, including this first message of tawhid the prophets brought. The same denial attitudes were observed both in the past tribes whose stories are told in Qur'an and in the society of the Prophet Mohammed (saw). This study, which was prepared under the title of The Handling of Attitudes Towards Prophets in Qur'anic Stories in Elmalılı Tafsir, consists of an introduction and two parts: In the introduction; the problem of the thesis, its purpose, the methods by which it was written, the limitation of the subject in terms of both content and resources, and the differences of previous studies on the subject from this thesis were explained. In the first part; the stories of Qur'an were discussed in terms of their purposes and qualities, and the determinations made by Elmalılı in the tafsir of the stories were handled under headings. In the second part; the similarities of the attitudes which the previous tribes adopted against the prophets were explained and it was stated that the same attitudes were adopted by the Meccan polytheists against the last Prophet Mohammed (saw). In addition, it was stated that the reasons why these societies adopted similar attitudes were generally the same. In the third part; the perspectives of today's societies on religion, Qur'an and the Sunnah were evaluated in the light of verses and authentic hadiths. The verses related to the stories were analyzed based on the approach and interpretations of Elmalılı Muhammed Hamdi Yazır's tafsir called "Hak Dini Kur'an Dili".
