Abstract (EN)

In this study, wheat (T. monococcum Siyez, T. aestivum L. cv. Ahmetağa) on the seedlings; The effects of drought (K), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and drought + hydrogen peroxide (K + H2O2) applications on the growth and antioxidant enzymes of seedlings were investigated. Shoot length, shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight, chlorophyll -a amount (chl-a), chlorophyll b amount (chl-b), total chlorophyll amount (chl a+b), chlorophyll (chl a/b) amount, catalase enzyme activity (CAT) and free antocyanine content were investigated. In our study, it was determined that K and K + H2O2 application caused a significant decrease in shoot length, shoot fresh weight and shoot dry weight in both ancestral wheat variety and Ahmetağa variety. There was a significant decrease in chlorophyll-a, chlorophyll-b and chlorophyll (a+b) amount in wheat seedlings of drought and drought + hydrogen peroxide applications in Siyez wheat seedlings. Drought applications in Ahmetağa wheat seedlings caused a significant decrease in chlorophyll-a and total chlorophyll amount, K + H2O2 and only H2O2 application caused some increase in Chl-a and chl b ratio. In our study, it has been determined that CAT enzyme activity decreases in all applications in Siyez variety compared to control. There was some decrease in K and H2O2 applications in Ahmetağa variety. The increase in the application of free anthocyanin amount increased only in the drought application made to wheat seedlings of Siyez variety, while no significant change was observed in all applications in the Ahmetağa variety. The amount of anthocyanins known to be involved in the destruction of radicals (H2O2, superoxide, hydroxyl etc ) has been found to increase in the Siyez variety. In this case, it is thought that anthocyanin may play a role in protecting against drought oxidative stress in Siyez genotype.
