Abstract (EN)

The aim of this dissertation is to investigate and estimate the impact of global uncertainties on international trade and foreign direct investment (FDI) with a panel data approach. In recent decades, the global economy has been increasingly exposed to unpredictable events such as financial crisis, geopolitical conflict and wars, pandemics, which have raised concerns about the stability and integration of global markets. Drawing on panel data covering a broad sample of countries over time, this study examines how fluctuations in global uncertainty, measured through indices such as Economic Policy Uncertainty (EPU) and World Uncertainty Index (WUI) which are significantly predictors of current contractions in trade openness and net FDI inflows. Our result underscores the profoundly disruptive impact of uncertain economic and policy environments on global economic integration.
