Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the challenges faced by born global firms in their internationalization process, how they survive these challenges and the strategies they follow in this process. Within this framework, 9 Turkish born global firms, which have the characteristics of "born global firm" have been determined. In this framework, semi-structured interviews were held with the managers/founders of these firms, and the data obtained from the interviews were evaluated using the content analysis technique. As a result of the findings obtained within the scope of the research, the difficulties faced by the born global firms were grouped under 8 headings. These were, financial difficulties, cultural differences, lack of network, human resources difficulties, lack of market knowledge, lack of knowledge about foreign government's policies, difficulties in selling phase, lack of government policies in the host country. In addition, within the scope of the study, the findings obtained regarding the survival strategies of born global firms were grouped under 3 headings. These were, to increase sectoral knowledge and business development competencies, creating financial resources, and providing sustainable income, specialization of the team members within the firm.
