Abstract (EN)

In this study, analyses were conducted to determine the relationship between the countries' achievements on the Global Innovation Index and universities' international achievements. The data from HEEACT and ARWU rankings, which evaluate the world universities, were used for university successes. In the study, the Chi-Square tests were applied by using the data from the Global Innovation Index, HEEACT and ARWU rankings of the countries. The results of the tests revealed a significant relationship. Correlation tests were carried to discover the direction and the severity of this relationship. It has been concluded that there is a strong linear relationship between the innovation environments of the countries and the success of their universities. Finally, the data are clustered by the K-Means Clustering Analysis method with the addition of continents and economic-political groups. Global Innovation Index, HEEACT and ARWU achievements have been observed to vary according to the continents and economic-political groups. Key Words: Global Innovation Index, HEEACT, ARWU, University success, Innovation environment
