Searching solutions in house architecture against the problem of rising water level cause of global warming

In 21st century, global warming is one of the most important problems that the world encountered. Dissolving glaciers and rising up the temperature of oceans as the result of global warming, causes rising water level of seas. Because of this rising, many countries are in danger, especially ocean side. As an architect, to design living areas for people is our responsibility. This research offers solutions in house architecture to perform this responsibilty. In the fisrt chapter, the method and coverage of this research is explained to make an entrance. In the second chapter, global warming which threatens our world seriously, its reasons, effects, solutions for this problem and disasters in Turkey if any precaution is taken are given and risk zones of Turkey are shown on a map. Rising water level caused by global warming directs architects to find solutions about how to live on water. In this context; seriousness of the problem of rising water level and disaster scenarios for the countries which are under risk are given, the relationship between water, human being and city are examined in a historical process, lives, architecture and utopias on water are investigated in the third chapter. In the forth chapter, The Netherlands as a model of countries fight against water is examined. ?The Amphibious Houses? and ?H2OPE of Holland? projects which are different from the solutions applied up to now are investigated and technical information which is supported by photographs is given. As a conclusion, these projects give hope for the countries in danger, offer more living quality and can be applied in Turkey.
