Abstract (EN)

Although the existing social and economic resources in the world are sufficient, it is seen that injustices have emerged in the distribution of the resources necessary for individuals to have a life standard worthy of human dignity. The globalization process and neoliberal policies, which focus on economic growth and productivity and weaken the policies for the redistribution of socioeconomic resources, by affecting adversely the free market economy and private property relations, leading to an increase in poverty and income inequality. This situation also leads to inequalities of opportunity in education and health, causing socioeconomic inequalities to continue for generations and thus to the emergence of an increasingly deepening vicious circle. The main problem here is not that socioeconomic resources are subject to private property rights or the validation of a free market economy, but that resources are concentrated in certain segments and inequalities deepen to the disadvantage of other segments. In this sense, socioeconomic inequalities must be at reasonable levels and fairness must be observed in the distribution of resources. With this, the necessity of state policies for this purpose is advocated, based on the belief that private property rights should be protected and free market conditions should be arranged in a way that would serve the welfare of the society without harming equity. In the study, the idea of "social justice", which aims to bring the socio-economic inequalities that arise for the reasons mentioned above, to a fairer level, and the policies towards it are evaluated historically and comparatively through the Swedish example.
