Turkey's agricultural policies against globalization and EU

Tendency of globalization and as oppositions such as economical, regional and political integrations after 1980's effect national agricultural policies, and lead the officials and other environs to emphasize upon the Turkish agricultural policies and course of sectoral structure. The constrains as to the issue of agricultural self sufficiency and power of competition brought new dimentions to this new trend called globalization. An approach comprehends the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) started to be carried out by the European Union (EU) clarifies that the agricultural problems in Turkey could be solved by considering the progressing international division of labour. The participation of Turkey to the Customs Union and similarly the agricultural policies brought into application by World Trade Organization give rise to unexpected effects over agricultural structure of Turkey. The process of Turkey's membership to EU necessitates that comprehensive investigations should be made in connection with the possible applications of agricultural policies in Turkey. This study aims to discuss the Turkish agricultural policies against EU and globalization. In this study, a muhti-dimentional concept called globalization would be examined especially in the field of economy. Furthermore today's agricultural conditions are going to be investigated by benefiting from the main economic indicators and statistics. Finally some recommendations will be raised for Turkey's agricultural policies in order to cope with the policies of EU and globalization.
