Abstract (EN)
The phenomenon of international student mobility constitutes a rapidly increasing student group all over the world, especially after the 2000s. The transformations experienced with the globalization process have had an impact on the internationalization of higher education and research on international student mobility has become widespread. International students enter the labor market of the countries they have gone with their work permit, and function to close the labor gap in the developing service sector. In the long run, it creates a qualified labor force reserve for countries. In this study, the phenomenon of international student mobility is discussed in the context of globalization and neoliberal economic policies, and the functions of international students in the labor market of the country they go to study are investigated. The research in the last part of the thesis is about the conditions in the labor market of international students who come to Kassel University in Kassel, Germany for higher education. The aim of the thesis is to reveal the importance of international students for the labor market of countries. In this context, a literature review about the case was made and previous studies on this field were examined. Qualitative interview technique was used as a field research data collection method. According to the findings, it was observed that students work part-time jobs in the service sector. Keywords: Globalization, neoliberal economic policies, international student mobility
