Abstract (EN)
With the developing technology, the mass media, which are a step into a new age of globalization, now have a comprehensive effect on the world. Broadcasts and content produced from a single center can now be easily delivered to the end-user anywhere in the world. This enables communication with large masses simultaneously. Communication tools, which have the effect of generating a common consciousness and ensuring the uniformization of cultural values in the globalizing world, offer the opportunity to direct and manage the society. The fact that the information is produced intensively in certain channels and presented to the consumer population causes the end-user to be under a big bombardment of information. This situation forces individuals to get lost in an almost impossible area such as choosing the most accurate among thousands of information that they encounter in a short time, and the individual becomes increasingly lonely and vulnerable. In this way, individuals become the target of various ideologies with information that has been fictionalized by certain foci, turned into a commodity of hyperreality and consumption. This makes it possible to turn mass media into an intervention tool. The digitalization of communication has changed the interaction area, effectiveness and direction of communication tools in multiple dimensions. Social networks have been transformed into sources that directly inform and produce content independent from the bureaucracy of the broadcast process that exists in traditional mass media. These technical possibilities raised social media to higher ranks among the factors affecting social movements and paved the way for its use as an effective weapon. Although the starting point was "Istanbul-Taksim", the "Gezi Park" actions turned into an opposition and demolition movement, spread throughout the country in a short time and even gained a social movement status by reaching a global dimension. Many structures such as artists, politicians, journalists, professional chambers, unions, and fan groups were actively involved in the Gezi events. In the present study, it has been tried to objectively treat the events that occurred from the beginning to the end of Gezi Park Actions. The Gezi Park Actions have been carefully examined and the ways of organizing, the political, economic and social factors affecting them, the objectives, the methods of action, the profile of the participant and the interaction and the various methods used have been tried to be explained. It was tried to be understood how effective the technology was in social movements, how the transition between the activist profiles and the structure that turned the streets into the battlefield, and how the events came to this point were analyzed.
