Özet (EN)
The aim of this thesis is to analyse the relationship between globalisation and transformation of citizenship from a descriptive perspective. The phenomenon globalisation is called upon as a key factor to understand the dynamics of past three decades. In the process of globalisation the nation states, sovereign states of Wetphalia, are not the sole actors of the world politics. But they are keeping their ascendancy and importance in which they have to adopt theirselves to the new conditions of transformation. Through this adoptation process, the effects of globalisation impose to re-define the Westphalian meaning of citizenship.A crisis occurs where the nation-states and individuals as citizens of the nation states find theirselves in, as sources of identity problems. On the other hand the transformation practices of citizenship are not a reference for a global citizenship. To realize an effective global citizenship would be possible only when effective and progressive institutions which give right of access to participation are established.
