Lexical personality of fictional character: Nuri Bilge Ceylan's Winter Sleep film's starring character Aydın in the context of Neo pi-r

This study aims to systematically measure the distinctive personality traits of the fictional character Aydın named Aydın in Nuri Bilge Ceylan's movie Winter Sleep, and classify it in the concept field consisting of related words. Aydın in the context of the 240 propositions of the Neo pi-r survey based on Winter Sleep's fictional language datas were preferred to be experienced in 'character creation /character criticism'. It was preferred that 11 participants who participated in the Neo pi-r questionnaire and analyzed Aydın through the fictional language of Winter Sleep's, based on the 240 propositions in this questionnaire, to be knowledgeable and experienced in 'character creation / character criticism'. Purposeful statistical data analysis methods were used to interpret the results of the questionnaire provided by the participants who gave their opinions in accordance with the Neo pi-r, which was selected to classify variables related to Aydın's personality traits. These analysis methods; Kendall-W analysis, confidence interval calculation of mean values, repeated measurement Anova analysis, and correlation graphs of Neo pi-r personality factor and sub-dimensions scores. The personality factors included in the Neo pi-r inventory and the concept areas of the sub-dimensions with related adjectives are exemplified with the words selected from fictional works published in Turkish. The fictional language data that may correspond to the low and high scored ranges of each factor are also shown with examples of fictional characters that can represent this lower and upper limit. As a result of the study, it was observed that the lexical personality of the fictional character Aydın could be measured through consensus and classified in the related concept area. In this classification, the binary correlations of the participants are highly consistent (p˃0,8); On the other hand, it was observed that the congruence of the cumulative results was low (p <0.8). According to this, the distinctive personality traits of the head of Winter Sleep's Aydın, in the collective evaluation, were constructed by Nuri Bilge Ceylan as the most intuitive; in binary correlations, it is thought that there are objective linguistic data according to the concept areas marked by the participants who have experience in 'character formation / character criticism'. Aydın's lexical personality as a result of the collective evaluation averages; Neuroticism 58.63, Extroversion 29.97, Openness 56.21, Conscientiousness 48.47 and Agreeablenass 28.07 on the basis of factors. In the context of utterances included in the concept field, where Aydın's lexical personality was marked as a result of the relevant statistical analysis, word frequency was also made with the Cibakaya 2.3 index program.The meanings that Aydın can express for the audience through the results obtained were read in the context of the themes of winter, isolation and loneliness. The original comments of the participants about Aydın's distinctive personality traits are explained in the discussion and conclusion sections of the study.
