Abstract (EN)

Sorani dialect, one of the most spoken dialects of Kurdish in Iraq, has been influenced by Turkish since the Ottoman period. In this study, it is aimed to examine, identify and classify the Turkish vocabulary in Sorani dialect. The fact that this subject has not been studied before, especially in terms of vocabulary, has been effective in our selection. In the first stage of the study, Turkish vocabulary items in Sorani dialect were determined based on written sources such as Kurdish (words, proverbs, idioms) dictionaries, and then they were divided into different categories. The findings of the study were both embodied with examples and evaluated in terms of statistics and presented in the form of tables and graphs. In addition, in the Appendices section of the study, a few old texts were analyzed in terms of vocabulary and 3 dictionaries were prepared, namely the Dictionary of Words, Idioms and Proverbs, together with the index of affixes. As a result of the study, a total of 2812 words and 39 affixes were determined in the Sorani dialect of Kurdish, which are included in the scope of Turkish vocabulary. Of these 2812 words, 442 are of Turkish origin, and 18 of 39 are inflectional and constructional suffixes.
