Özet (EN)

In this research, it was aimed to illuminate Islamic sects spreading among the Kurds. For this, the process of the conquest of the Kurdish geography by the Muslims and the domination of the Ahl-i Sunnah sect in the region was discussed. In addition, Sunni fiqh denominations operating in the Kurdish geography and their prominent names were mentioned, while Shafi'i was more dominant than the other denominations. Then it refers to the Khawarij movements in the Kurdish regions and the reasons why the Kurds supported these movements, as well as the most important rebellions initiated or supported by the Kurds. Later on, the Shiite sects that appeared in the region such as Hashabiyyah, Zaydiyyah, Imamiyyah and Gulat'sh-Shi'a were mentioned. On the other hand, the Sufi groups and their historical processes operating in Kurdish geography have not been forgotten. Adaviyyah order was centered from these; its birth, principles, major personalities and deviations that experienced. Three methods were used in this research to reach the determined targets. One of these is the descriptive method, thanks to it, it was ensured the depth in the situation of the sects seen in the Kurdish region. In addition, the political, social and other situations of the time period are depicted. Descriptive method was also used while the process of Kurdish geography was conquered by Muslims, historical events and the emergence of sects in this geography. Then the factors that have been influenced by the emergence of different denominations and religions in the Kurdish geography and the findings obtained from the research were analyzed with the analytical method. With this, it is aimed to acquire some ambiguities and to obtain healthy results. In addition, by taking advantage of the induction method, the information of the al-milal and nihal books and the records of the primary historical sources about the sects are put together. In this research, some important results have been achieved in this research. Like other nations adopting Islam, the Kurds have also been affected by the evolving historical events, and many sects have emerged between them. They have also developed rebellions against figures dominating their territory, or supported rebellions initiated by others. So much so that the majority of the Kurds adopting Islam adopted Sunniism and Shafii, one of its fiqh denominations. However, a limited number of them adopted another sects. Some Kurds supported the Khawarij and participated in the rebellions they have initiated, but in fact they have done so by freeing the dominant state and the tax burden. This research came to the conclusion that the Kurds were also influenced by Sufi movements. Some extreme Sufi groups, such as the Adaviyyah, were also seen in the Kurds. Adaviyyah was divided into two in the process, one of it deviates from Islam and transforms into an independent religion with the name of Yazidism, while the other part rests on the principles of faith. Finally, it is proposed that the historical processes of the sects that appeared in the region should be investigated. Because there are many things that previous researchers did not mention. This research can be regarded as a modest study in this field.
