Institutional cost of stroke

The purpose of this paper is to examine the factors which affect the cost of stroke according to a nurse form that is applied by nurses. In consideration of corporate cost data, the cost of stroke disease on corporations is analyzed by the instance of Duzce University. This research was made retrospectively on 301 samples from Neurology Clinic patients of Duzce University who were treated for stroke disease wich between the date of 01 January 2015 and 31 December 2015. We have retrospectively checked all patient's history files. Files of all these patients which includes all kind of data about the patients such as gender, age, job, education, status period of stayed in hospital, number of total chronic disease of the patient, where the patient came from, type of arriving on neurology clinic, level of consciousness, whether the patient has ever stayed in hospital, number of total chronic disease, mobilization, ability of handling with physical needs, communication, accompaniment status, habits and medicines that patient uses regularly were studied. In the study, the costs of hospitalized patients with stroke and their association with disease and demographic characteristics were examined. The relationship between patients' age, gender, number of days that stayed in the hospital, physical addictiveness level and the results of them according to this research were considered. An econometric model was built according to quantitative data. The analysis of these quantitative dates was processed by Eviews 9 software. According to results of this model; period of stay in the hospital, increasing in chronical diseases, type of arriving on neurology clinic, the status of consciousness, whether coronary heart failure and chronic renal insufficiency exist increase the cost of diagnosis.
