Abstract (EN)
Objective: This study was carried out to determine the effects of wind power plants on birds on bird migration routes. Material and Methods: Between 2017-2018 gliding migrating birds were observed 90 days in spring and autumn in Balıkesir Ayyıldız WPP, Hatay Atik WPP, Kırklareli Kıyıköy WPP in different areas of TURKEY. Relation of the WPP and saved fields were expressed. In this study counting and transcet counting methods were applied. Results: Spring and Autumn migration periods were evaluated in three different wind power plants where the studies were carried out. Observed birds species in the area were identified and their protection status were stated. The rautes used by the birds during their migration and their dangerous approaches to the turbines were recorded. Conclusion: The importance of the renewable energy sources has increased recently as climate change shows its effects. Wind energy has come to the forefront because it is sustainable and economical. According to the findings in these studies to determine the effects of wind tirbunes on birds, it was observed that birds generally avoided the tirbunes.
