Urban design project where to goal is to focus on second homes within Kuşadaşı; as a main source of income to tourism-Kadıkalesi example

After 1960?s the tourism sector has gained an acceleration due to the improvements in transportation, increase in automobile ownership, increase in quantity and quality of highways, more payed vacations, better union rights and the improvements of social security concerns for the sake of the workers. This acceleration had some effects on the countries in which the governments follow inflationist politics like unplanned developments in sea shores and unjust prices and gains in real estate. Especially by the sea coast of the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean Sea, thousands of residences have been produced with these purposes. As the result, a big residence stock of thousands has emerged which is used only for 2 or 3 months a year. Almost all of these formations are located atong the sea shores where there is a high tourism potential. These unfortunate investments which add nothing to the national economy can be gained in terms of the tourism sector. Therefore these facility sites can add value to national tourism sector and income, and also the problems caused by these sites to the local govermances can be decreased. In this study, an applicational model and project is developed and presented on a pilot example chosen for the gain of the secondary homes to tourism sector in the country. The main concern of the study is to develop an urban design project for conversion of the secondary homes in the area for touristic purposes, and to solve a physical planning problem by the help of these urban design concerns. Another concern of the study is to examine the methods and models to gain the secondary homes the national torism sector and economy.
