Abstract (EN)
Kutadgu Bilig is a work written by Yusuf Has Hacib in the Karakhanid Period and consists of a total of 6645 couplets. Kutadgu Bilig, the first political book and the first mesnevi of Turkish cultural history, is among the most important legacies of Turkish cultural history in terms of conveying the Turkish thought system. In the work; It contains valuable information about law, justice and state administration. Many studies have been carried out on Kutadgu Bilig until today. The aim of this study is to identify the time concepts in Kutadgu Bilig and to examine them comparatively with today's Turkey Turkish according to their origin, form and meaning. The concepts of time identified in the study at hand are based on the way they are used alone in the couplets; They are classified according to their use in reduplications, phrases, idioms and proverbs. In addition to examining the concepts of time in terms of origin, structure and meaning, they are also discussed in terms of polysemy by delving into semantic issues with word derivation methods such as metaphor and metonymy, where necessary. At the end of the study, which consists of four chapters, the concepts of time are listed in alphabetical order, and an index is prepared by giving their meanings in Turkey Turkish and the page numbers in which they appear in the work.
