Abstract (EN)
Evacuation is part of fire safety concepts. The safety and speed of evacuation are directly affected by structural, technical and administrative fire safety measures. Another factor affecting the safety and speed of evacuation is the human factor. In general, two models are used in the calculation of evacuation rates. The evacuation rate is calculated manually in the microscopic models, and digitally in the microscopic models. Neither the environmental factors affecting the human behaviors can be reflected at the desired level in macroscopic models, nor the human factor in microscopic models can be fully simulated. The aim of this study is to compare the findings obtained from macroscopic and microscopic models. The evacuation exercise has been conducted in the university library. Similarly, the evacuation simulation has been designed for the university library. 296 individuals / agents have participated in the evacuation practice and simulation performed under normal conditions. The results of both models have been found to be different. Furthermore, it has been determined that the human factor on the microscopic model and the environmental factors on the macroscopic model cannot be calculated.
