Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to plan the teaching of practice-based ?Weaving Technology II? course based on the generative multimedia learning theory by interactive web assisted education method and to examine the effects of visual and auditory elements used in this scope on student?s success.Experimental pattern of the terminal test control groups are used in this study. By this modelling, it is investigated whether there is a difference between conventional method and supportive distance learning method in educational quality. To determine the differences of academic success of the students taking courses by supportive distance learning method and conventional method, and the level of importance of these differences, qautitative data collection and analysis method are used.The study is practised on two student groups as experimental and control. The application is carried out with student who were on 08-09 fall semester of 3. year and successfully taken the `Weaving Technology I? course. Having the opportunity of internet use, 20 students of experimental group have received the web assisted education method, while 20 students of control group have received the conventional method. Applied part and exams of the course are fulfilled face to face. Application continued for 14 weeks (1 semester).A goal and target behaviour are determined related to the cognitive and psychomotor area based on content and subject of the course. Preliminary test is prepared and applied in order to determine the experimental and control groups. Visual and auditory materials are prepared related to the subjects issued in `Weaving Technology I? and web assisted teaching model is formed.During the study, ?web page evaluation form? is given to experimental group students to evaluate the web assisted teaching model from the aspect of content, use and visuality; both experimental and control group students are given mid-term and final exams; ?Weaving Technology II course presentation file evaluation scale? is prepared to evaluate the presentation file; and ?observation form? is prepared to follow the practises by the weeks. The collected data analyzed statistically and significance of the differences between groups is studied through t-test.According to the outcome of the study, as the reached level of cognitive and psychomotor area goal and target behaviours of experimental and control group students considered with their scores, it is seen that the success of experimental group students is slightly forward. However, this difference is not found significant statistically (p>0,05). Considering this result, it is concluded that web assisted education could be an alternative to conventional education method.This study points out the applicability of internet technologies to practice-based courses and it?s contribution to education. Relative to the obtained data, suggestions are presented intended for the web assisted education applications and scientific researches to be made in advance.
