Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to investigate the weed species prevailing in wheat production areas of Northern Iraq Region, their intensities and frequency of occurrence through March and April 2018 year. Survey studies were carried out in a total of 45 wheat production areas in 9 districts of 3 provinces, (Akrı, Berdareş, Summel and Zaho), Erbil (Harir, Kelek and Şeklawa) and Musul (Al Quş and Ayn Sıfn), located at the borders of Northern Iraq Region. The survey study identified 101 weed species (15 monocotyledonae, 86 dicotyledonae) and 75 genera and belonging to 26 families. Among these weeds, Sinapis arvensis (10.97 plants/m2), Galium ticornutum (8.50 plants/m2), Avena fatua (7.00 plants/m2), Hordeum spontaneum (6.46 plants/m2), Convolvulus arvensis (6.04 plants/m2), Ranunculus arvensis (4.49 plants/m2), Fumaria asepala (3.90 plants/m2), Avena sterilis (3.35 plants/m2), Cardaria draba (3s31 plants/m2) and Turgenia latifolia (3/17 plants/m2) were identified as 10 most intensive species in the Northern Iraq region.
