In the 1st experiment, 5dosages L-arj. i.p. (0, 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 mg/kg) were tested for 80 days. Specificgrowth rate (SGR), daily growth rate (DGR) showed the similar effect with control group. 2ndexperiment, 4 dosages (0, 5, 10 and 20 g/kg) L-arg. were tested; highest DGR and SGR werefound in the group fed 10 and 20 g/kg groups. The 3rd experiment, two feeding rates L-NAME i.p.(0 and 60 mg/kg), were tested, highest DGR was found in the control group. 4thexperiment, 2 dosages (0 and 3 g/kg) L-NAME oral tested. The fish fed with normal diet(control) had highest weight gain as compared to that in the L-NAME treated group. The 5thexperiment, L-arj+L-NAME i.p. (0 and 1500 mg/kg+60 mg/kg) were tested. SGR and DGRshowed the similar effect with control groups (p>0.05). The 6th experiment, L-arj.+L-NAMEoral (0 and 20 g/kg +3 g/kg) were tested. Data of growth rate SGR and DGR showed thesimilar effect with control group.In the 1st, and 2nd experiments of the 2nd Section, it was carried out to investigate theeffects of i.p. neuropeptid Y (NPY) (0, 0.1, 0.3 and 0.6 µg/g), administration of NPY at 10 hpost injection (p<0.05). In the 2nd experiment, NPY was orally given at 0, 0.125 and 0.25µg/g feed for 50 days. Average final weight of the fish fed 0.25 µg/g of NPY was found to beapproximately 12% higher than the control group. SGR and DFI were significantly higher atthe group fed 0.25 µg/g NPY of food compared to other groups (p<0.05). Difference ingrowth rate and food intake started to appear around 30th day of the culture and this trendremained the same until the end of the feeding period.In the 1st and 2nd Section experiments, fish body composition protein, ash, crude andlipid were similar (p>0.05), however, no significant differences were apparent in glucose.Keywords: Oreochromis niloticus, Nöropeptid Y, L-arginin, Food Intake, Body CompositionII
