Katalonya'da bağımsızlıkçılığın yükselişi: Ekonomik depresyonda özerk topluluklar rejiminin krizi

This MA thesis aims at examining the ascension of the independentist movement in Catalonia. The thesis tries to understand how the independentist tendency have become dominant in Catalonia, which is one of the 17 autonomous communities that makes up Spain, and why the regime of autonomous communities cannot respond to the self-government demands of Catalan people. The thesis analyzes the three principal namely historical, political and economic dimensions of Catalan issue and argues that popular reaction against the recentralist policies of the Spanish government and against the austerity plans, which are being imposed after the economic crisis, has been crystallized in Catalonia in the demand of the independentism.
