Abstract (EN)

In this study, effects of L-carnitine and coenzyme Q10 on growth performance of brook trout were investigated. For this purpose; four groups with three replicates were formed: Control (initial weight 29.658±4.326 g), L-carnitine (100 mg L-carnitine/100 g diet) (initial weight 29.193±3.860 g), coenzyme Q10 (100 mg coenzyme Q10/100 g diet) (initial weight 29.218±3.060 g) and L-carnitine/coenzyme Q10 (100 mg L-carnitine+100 mg coenzyme Q10/100 g diet) (initial weight 29.248±3.593 g). The feeding trial was continued for 210 days. The average water temperature was measured as 11.98±1.80 oC during the feeding trials. At the end of the study; there were no significant differences in length, length of specific growth rate and length of thermal growth coefficient values between the groups (P>0.05). Groups of L-carnitine, coenzyme Q10 and L-carnitine/coenzyme Q10 significantly differed from control group in weight, weight of specific growth rate, weight of thermal growth coefficient, condition factor, feed conversion ratio and feed efficiency (P<0.05). The addition of additives will provide great benefit both fish health and to increase the products in aquaculture sector.
