Effects of maize varieties and lactic acid bacteria + enzym mixture on chemical composition and in- sacco degradation characteristics of dry matter of maize silages

Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out to investigate the effect of different silage maize varieties (Sakarya, Aga and Ada 351) and lactic acid bacteria + enzyme mixture inoculant in Iskilip district of Çorum province on the chemical composition of corn silages and rumen degradability of nutrients. The silage maize varieties used in the research were cultivated in randomized blocks in Çorum-İskilip conditions in 2016-2017 vegetation period. For this purpose, three adult rumen cannulated (3.5 cm internal diameter) Karayaka ram were used to determine the dry matter and crude protein degradability of corn silages by using nylon bag technique. The experiment was carried out in a randomized block design.The application of LAB + E inoculant to maize varieties did not affect dry matter, NDF and crude protein contents. The highest ash content of silages was found to be of Aga cultivar (p = 0.06). and LAB + E inoculant reduced crude ash levels in silages (p = 0.06). On the other hand, it was determined that there was no difference in pH between maize varieties, however, LAB + E inoculant decreased the pH of silages (P<0.05) and the maximum decrease was found to be Aga (P <0.01). Although there was no statistical difference between the experimental groups in terms of fleig score, LAB + E tended to increase the fleig score. It was determined that Sakarya cultivar had higher NEL value than other cultivars (P = 0.06) and LAB + E inoculant application decreased the net energy value of silages (P <0.05). In general, LAB + E application, effective dry matter and crude protein degradability properties, different rumen transition rates (k = 0.05, k = 0.08) was observed to have no significant effect. As a result, it was determined that LAB + E inoculant applied to corn silages decreased pH and net energy value of silages. In addition, it was observed that silages did not affect the effective dry matter degradability properties.
