Abstract (EN)
This master thesis was organized in four chapters. The first chapter is designed as an introduction section. In this chapter, a literature review related to the Lane-Emden equation and its solution methods is given. The second chapter contains some basic information to be used in this thesis. In the third chapter a general structure was given about the numerical solution of boundary value problems in ordinary differential equations by the finite difference method. In the fourth chapter numerical solutions of six different model problems with different boundary conditions were made with finite difference method. The obtained results are compared with analytical solutions and they are presented with their error norms L₂ ve L_{∞} in the tables.
