vINVESTIGATION OF RUBBERIZED CONCRETECHARACTERISTIC WITH EXPERIMENTAL(M.Sc. Thesis)Özer DOĞANGAZI UNIVERSITYINSTUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYJuly 2005ABSTRACTIn this research used tires are embedded with appropriate seize and ratios intothe concrete and this new-formed material has been tried to specify about itsphysical and mechanical properties. The aim of this process is to increase theflexibility and energy absorbing limit of the concrete.According to the context of this study, physical and mechanical experimentshave been conducted over 153 samples by exchanging the broken agregate stonein the ratios %10, %15, %30, %45 of its volume with used fiber-shaped cartires, which is cut into two different size, broken stone and PC 42.5 cement, which is popularly used in the production of concrete. As a result of these experiments, it has been observed that having the tire andagregate mixed concretes low weights over surface proved that this new-formedconcrete has more flexibility, density, and ability to fit its shape against theeffects of crushing, breaking, and high pressure factors than regular producedconcretes. Furthermore, the amount of the tire used in concrete helped toreduce the physically, mechanically, and environmentally effects on theconcrete.viIn the conclusion, using the concretes mixed with agregate and tire is highlysuggested in producing highway railings, construction areas, building soundproof walls; constructing the columns of the highway bridges, roadside ofpedestrian ways, cobblestone, any decoration applications, or building anystructure which is required heat proof.Science Code : 181Key Words : Concrete, Waste tire agregate, ruberized concrete, mechanicalresistance, physical resistancePage Number : 205Adviser : Doç.
