Abstract (EN)
Throughout my internship at Marisa, a clothing company, we gained an understanding that manufacturing sectors as a whole are encountering several obstacles that impede their output. Marisa is experiencing issues with line balancing and execution, the presence of various forms of waste, low productivity, inadequate communication between departments, extended production lead time, lengthy waiting periods, and delayed shipments, among other challenges. These problems can be resolved by implementing Lean Manufacturing tools. The project aims to address these issues by utilizing continuous flow or single-piece flow, specifically by implementing a new U-shaped layout. Additionally, the study provides solutions for the 8 types of waste known as MUDA. Once the tools are established and implemented, the effects may be noticed in several aspects such as the number of successful outcomes, the time it takes to complete a process, the time it takes to complete a task, the daily production rate, and other related factors. This case study focuses on the Coat line, which is one of the assembly lines in the manufacturing department and has the biggest amount of waste.
