Özet (EN)

This thesis focuses on the lighting systems of an amphitheater and a campus road at Düzce University, simulated using DIALux software with LED and fluorescent lamps. The study evaluates various lighting scenarios to compare energy consumption, cost efficiency, and performance. Simulation results demonstrate that LED lamps outperform fluorescent lamps in terms of energy savings, light quality, and long-term cost efficiency. Notably, LED technology was found to be more efficient and significantly more cost-effective over time, particularly in road lighting applications. The findings highlight that, despite the high initial costs, LED technology offers substantial energy and cost savings in the long term, reduces environmental impacts, and provides a sustainable lighting solution. This underscores the necessity of implementing energy-efficient lighting systems in large-scale facilities such as universities and public institutions. Conducted specifically at the Düzce University Konuralp Campus, this study provides concrete evidence of the economic and environmental advantages of LED technology, serving as a guide for the implementation of energy efficiency projects. In conclusion, this thesis evaluates the applicability and benefits of LED technology in large-scale applications like university campuses, emphasizing its critical role in achieving sustainability goals. Future studies are recommended to conduct a more detailed analysis of different lighting technologies and scenarios and to develop innovative approaches to enhance the efficiency of LED systems.
