Özet (EN)

Energy resources in various areas of the world have been one of the vital needs of societies throughout history. Energy resources, which are of strategic importance in our age, are considered as an important factor in the domestic and foreign policies of states. Therefore, these energy sources affect the relations between states. The Levant region, which has a long history of thousands of years, has been brought to the agenda with natural gas reserves discovered in the Levant Basin in recent years. Natural gas, whose importance and strategic value has increased due to the widespread use and trade, has a direct impact on the inter-state relations among other states such as other energy resources. Israeli-Jordanian relations, which have been remembered with wars and conflicts until the last twenty years, have undergone significant changes after these natural gas discoveries. The two countries with energy security problems signed important natural gas agreements one after another in order to ensure energy security. Agreements signed between Israel and Jordan and the economic cooperation established within the framework of natural gas are important in terms of their impacts on the diplomatic, economic, and social relations of the two countries. In this political geography study, the effects of natural gas resources in the Levant Basin as a geographical element on the relations between the two countries which have a problematic past are tried to be outlined.
