Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to analyze mathematics questions from the LGS, mathematics textbooks, and sample questions published by MoNE. Within the framework of quantitative research methods, data was collected through document analysis. The data sources include LGS mathematics questions from 2018 to 2024, samples the official website of MoNE, and three different 8th-grade mathematics textbooks recognized as official by BoE. Totally 973 mathematics questions were analyzed within the context of content analysis. To determine the learning domains of the questions, an expert consultation form was used by the researcher and six experts. Among the findings, it was observed that the highest number of questions are radical expressions, while the fewest are about similarity in triangles, transformation geometry, and geometric solids. Due to the high percentages of learning outcomes and the processing time, it is concluded that the most questions over the past 7 years have come from the topic of radical expressions. The low percentage or absence of questions on geometric solids can be attributed to it being the last topic of the academic year. When comparing the topic distributions of the questions over the years, it was found that the proportions for 2022 and 2024 were identical, and 2019 was similar. It can be stated that there is no similar distribution between 2020 and 2023 LGS, which covered only first-semester topics. It is recommended that the unit assessment questions in the textbooks be prepared in alignment with the topic distribution of the LGS exam and sample questions.
