منهج الليبراليين العرب في دراسة القرآن وأثره في إندونيسيا

Muslims have faced intellectual challenges in this era in the form of the spread of ideas and philosophies from Western Christian civilisation, including liberalism. Some Arab intellectuals were influenced by this idea and then tried to introduce it to the origins of religion and its sources, especially the Qur'an, and then tried to free the boundaries of the rules and principles in studying the Qur'an through their contemporary approaches, and then these approaches spread to Islamic countries and influenced the thinking of their people, including Indonesia, so this research will discuss these approaches and their influence in Indonesia. The importance of this research is to find out the approaches of Arab liberals in dealing with the Qur'an, while the purpose of this research is to highlight the contemporary intellectual challenges contained in the emergence of liberals in the Islamic world and reveal the approaches of Arab liberals in the study of the Qur'an and its influence in Indonesia, to achieve this the researcher uses descriptive, analytical and inductive methods. After conducting the research, the researcher found the following results: Liberalism does not originate from Islamic civilisation but from Western civilisation and it is based on freedom, individualism, rationality and relativism, then Arab liberalists in the study of the Quran is based on the method of challenge and scepticism, the method of humanisation, the method of historicism, the method of rejection of synonymity, and the last is the linguistic method. Finally, the curriculum has a strong influence in Indonesia in changing Indonesians' perceptions of Islam and their actions in insulting Qur'anic texts, so the researcher recommends studying the ideas of Arab liberals and pointing out their doubts about the Quran in particular and conducting research to reveal the deviations they have made to the understanding of the Quran through objections, denials and scepticism.
