Abstract (EN)

This dissertation examines libertarian thinker Murray N. Rothbard?s political philosophy and his place in liberal tradition. Libertarianism may be classified as mimal statist and anarcho capitalist. While minimal statism does not reject the present and requirement of the State but demands that it be limited as possible as, anarcho capitalism is against the State and argues that security and justice services should be marketed. As a anarcho capitalist libertarian, Murray Rothbard argues that the institution of State not be reformed but must be abolished in order to achieve real justice and protection. Because, according to Rothbard, the State acquires its revenue by physical coercion (tax-ation) and achieves a compulsory monopoly of force and of ultimate decision-making power over a given territorial area. Against the system which the State dominate, Rothbard suggests anarcho-capitalist system which private defense agents serve in a competitive market.Murray Rothbard?s political theory is based on the philosophy of natural law, especially John Locke?s treatment of property and initial acquisition, and Rothbard aims to establish private property determines each individual?s sphere of free action by his theory of liberty. Indeed, He constructs his liberty theory based on private property on two libertarian axiom: self ownership which means each person rightfully owns his or her own body and non-aggression axiom where aggression is defined as ?the initiation of the use or threat of physical violence against the person or property of anyone else?.Rothbard, justifies individual liberty by reference to human nature and reason. Apart from rational human nature, Misesian praxeology is also constitutive element of Rothbard?s social theory. Praxeology rests on the fundamental axiom that individual human beings act, that is, on the primordial fact that individuals engage in conscious actions toward chosen goals. Action implies that the individual's behavior is purposive, in short, that it is directed toward goals. Not only do philosophy of natural law and praxeology constitute the foundation of Rothbard?s social theory but also differentiate his philosophy from other libertarian thinkers?, such as Nozick, David Friedman, philosophies.Rothbard defines two basic socio-economic systems in his economy theory: The system in which market principles are applied and the system in which hegemonistic principles are used. The application of market principles contributes to harmony in the system, and secures the freedom, prosperity and effectiveness of society. The implementation of hegemonistic principles causes conflicts, force, ineffectiveness, poverty and chaos.Key Words1. Anarcho-capitalism2. Libertarianism.3. Self-ownership4. Nonaggression axiom.5.
