Analysis of Libyan intra-state conflict: Conflict-Related + Solution Strategies (CR+SS)

The concept of conflict stands out as a phenomenon that is examined in different fields and at different dimensions. In the field of international relations, this phenomenon is examined particularly through intra-state and inter-state conflicts. Indeed, with the increase in the number of intra-state conflicts in the post-Cold War period, studies on such conflicts have intensified. In particular, the fact that intra-state conflicts in modern times have increased the potential to threaten national, regional and international security and that such conflicts reflect a chaotic situation has made it essential to analyze and resolve conflicts. In this context, the current study aims to make the conflict in Libya understandable as an example of intra-state conflict and to develop conflict resolution strategies. Indeed, conflict resolution has a place in the literature as an effort to analyze conflict and develop conflict resolution strategies. The scope of the study is limited to the period between 2011 and 2022, when Libya was subject to internal conflicts at various levels. The study reveals how intra-state conflicts can be analyzed within the framework of the 'conflict mapping' method as a conflict analysis model. Indeed, conflict mapping provides the opportunity to understand intra-state conflicts that reflect a complex situation in a multidimensional way and provides practicality in analyzing such conflicts. In addition, the main framework of the study is the 'Conflict-Related + Solution Strategies (CR+SS)' produced based on the conflict mapping method. CR+CS analyzes the conflict in many dimensions as well as focusing on strategies aimed at solution. Thus, the study puts the conflict resolution theory into practice through the example of Libya, and offers strategies that will provide long-term effects rather than strategies that will provide short-term effects for solution, thus making significant contributions to contemporary conflict resolution. Ultimately, the solution of the Libyan intra-state conflict requires the conflict to be analyzed in depth and soundly and solution strategies to be developed. In this context, the causes, actors, dynamics and context of the conflict are analyzed in depth and possible scenarios are produced for solution.
