Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is to investigate the relationship between the leader-member exchange behaviors of secondary school principals and teachers' organizational silence behaviors and organizational health perceptions according to the perceptions of teachers working in public secondary schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. Besides, it is also aimed to investigate the perceptions of teachers working in public secondary schools regarding leader-member exchange, their organizational silence behaviors and organizational health perception levels in terms of various variables. The research is carried out with the relational screening model. The population of the research is 2882 teachers working in 109 official secondary schools located within the borders of Eskişehir province; The sample consisted of 1010 teachers determined by stratified sampling method. Research data are collected with the Three-Dimensional Leader Member Exchange Scale (LMX-3D), developed by the researchers, the Organizational Health Scale developed by Doğanay and Dağlı (2016, 2020), and the Organizational Silence Scale developed by Çakıcı (2008). Data analyzes are performed using descriptive statistical values, parametric analysis techniques (MANOVA, ANOVA, Independent Sample T test), nonparametric analysis techniques (Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis H) and regression methods. As a result of the research, teachers working in public secondary schools have high perceptions of leader-member exchange and organizational health; it has been determined that the perceptions of organizational silence are very low. A positive, medium and significant relationship is found between leader-member exchange and organizational health perception level. It is found that there is a negative and medium relationship between organizational silence and organizational health perception level. It has been determined that leader-member exchange and organizational silence -together- have a significant relationship with organizational health and are significant predictors of organizational health. Leader-member exchange and organizational silence are found to be significant predictors of organizational health. In addition, it is determined that leader-member exchange behaviors are more effective than organizational silence behaviors on organizational health.
