Abstract (EN)
In this study, the effect of leadership style on employee motivation and organizational citizenship behavior was investigated. In addition, the relationship between participants' demographic characteristics and leadership style, employee motivation, and organizational citizenship behavior was also examined. Living in Turkey at the Istanbul province to investigate the impact of leadership style on employees, the survey was conducted only on white-collar employees working in the private sector. Data were collected from 400 people by face to face questionnaire. In this study, Multi-Factor Leadership Scale, Motivation Scale and Organizational Citizenship Scale were used. The Multi-Factor Leadership Scale consists of 7 factors under 3 general factors. These are Transformational Leadership (charismatic / inspirational, intellectual stimulation, individual support), Sustainable Leadership (reward-based, exempted management [active], exempted management [passive]) and Freedom-Recognizing Leadership subscales. The motivation scale has intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation subscales. The organizational citizenship scale consists of 20 items and 5 dimensions. These; altruism (4 items), conscience (4 items), courtesy (4 items), civil virtue (4 items) and sportsmanship (4 items). The analyzes were performed with SPSS 23.0 program. No significant relationship was found between gender, marital status, age and number of children and Leadership Style, Employee Motivation and Organizational Citizenship Scale. There was a similar relationship between total working time and Leadership Style and Employee Motivation. The relationship between education level and employee motivation was also found to be in the same direction. There was a similar relationship between Leadership Style, Employee Motivation and Organizational Citizenship Scale. Leadership style positively affects employee motivation and organizational citizenship. In addition, leadership style affects the total working time of the employees in the workplaces. Increasing the level of education also increases employee motivation.
