Abstract (EN)
Nowadays, the most important factors that affect the success of organizations in reaching their goals, the leadership and job stress come to the fore. It is possible to encounter stress in every area we live in, in every environment we interact with. Although the causes of this stress vary, when the source and formation of stress is in the business environment, it is possible to encounter inefficient results and a decrease in the quality of life for both the organization and the employee. Humanity lives as a community since the earliest times. In order to manage and direct systematically these communities, the need for leadership emerged. In this work, a study was conducted to examine the effect of leadership styles on job stress. The sub-dimensions of leadership styles and job stress were examined according to demographic characteristics such as age, gender, seniority, income status, relation of leadership styles with job stress and level of its efficacy. A questionnaire with research scales and a personal form was applied to small and medium-sized textile companies in Diyarbakır. As a result of the research and obtained findings, it was determined that there is a moderately negative and significant relationship between leadership styles and job stress. There were a significant relationship between leadership styles and the participants gender, seniority, monthly income and the job stress. In addition, it has been found that the employee-oriented leadership dimension, which is one of the dimensions of leadership styles, has a significant predictor of job stress and has a predictive power of approximately 23%. As a result, it is wrong to adopt a single leadership model, the leadership role must be fulfilled according to the situation. It has been determined that increase in the preference of employee-oriented leadership has an important role in reducing job stress. Keywords: Leadership Styles, Leader, Leadership, Work Stress
