Abstract (EN)
Turkey is an earthquake country. Throughout its history, each corner of its territory subjected to countless earthquakes. Earthquakes that occurred in these lands brought significant changes in the nature and lives of those living on it. Located in one of the most active earthquake zones globally, the Anatolian is one of the significant region known with its impact on geological history and its human history. Thanks to the revolutionary developments in social and natural science in the last century, additional geologic information was discovered. In this context, both the data by decoding the old languages of Anatolian written resources and the advancement in earth sciences via modern technology facilitated historical earthquakes investigation process. Since the 19th century, when earthquake studies began, catalogs prepared for various world earthquake zones began to be also prepared for Anatolia zones. Within these studies, many kinds of research have been written for the tectonic history of Turkish territory. On the other hand, by using the determination and evaluation of earthquake records referred to historical data, the primary purpose of this study is; to reveal the tectonic events and information experienced throughout the history of the study area; to contribute to the determination of the active tectonic structure of the region, and to create calculations for possible future disasters. In this study, earthquakes that occurred throughout the Teke Peninsula's written history were interpreted by using primary sources and evaluated by comparing with modern research. Beginning with the oldest records until the end of the 19th century, Earthquakes were studied in a broad chronology, focusing on the effect of habitat on the communities living in this geography and by taking into account the interaction between nature and human beings.
