Linking protean career orientation to employee well-being: The mediating role of perceived employability

This thesis examines the mediating role of perceived employability in the relationship between protean career orientation and life satisfaction as a dimension of employee well-being. Data were gathered from a total of 359 Information technology sector employees in Türkiye. Hypothesis tests were employed using structural equation modelling and bootstrapping method. The results indicated that protean career orientation has a significant and positive effect on life satisfaction. Moreover, perceived employability were found to have a mediating role in the relationship between protean career orientation and life satisfaction. This thesis contributes to the scholarly literature by conducting an empirical investigation into the predictive impact of protean career orientation on life satisfaction. Additionally, it explores the mediating role of perceived employability in this relationship, utilizing a sample of employees working in information technology sector. Because this study employs a cross-sectional research approach and solely gathers data from employees, causality between variables cannot be inferred.
