The sufficiacy level of career guidance in the orientation of occupation areas of the 9.th grade students and the examination of their gladness

In this research, career guidance services and orietation activities are told which are used in the 9.th grade students in high school who are on the stage of the views of the 9.th grade students, informing about ocupations, the level of guidance and orientation studies and the examination of the gladness of the students related to these activities are aimed in the first part of the thesis, general concepts reated to career and career guidance are made clear. The importance of occupation choice, the factors which effect the occupation choice, the process of professional improvement, the theories of Professional imprvement, the career guidance studies between in EU countries and Turkey and the orieantation studies in Turkish education system are told.In the application of questionnaire, the city of İstanbul is chosen with it?s towns; Kartal, Beyoğlu, Fatih, Zeytinburnu and Avcılar. In the study, the application of guestionnaire is made to different types of vocational school, in these towns. The questionnaires are applied to 489 students who are attending to 9 vocational high schools in the 5 towns.The data used in research are collected by using the questinnaire applied to the students and it composes of 2 parts. While in the first part, introductory information is taken for personal knowledge about students and the gladness of the students related to the career guidance and introduction - orientation lesson, in the second part, career guidance and orientation studies in the schools and the evaluation of the learning of the students about these activities are stated.Key words: Career Guidance, Orientation, The Lesson of Introduction and Orientation
