Examination of fair-play orientations of athlete students educated at high school level

The aim of this research is to examine whether the fair orientation of high school students in Rize differ in term of various variables. General scanning model was used in this research. In the 2021-2022 academic year 552 volunteer athletes were participated in the study who selected by simple random sampling method, studied at high school in Rize province. The personal information form which was developed by the researcher and the multidimensional sportmanship orientation scale developed by Vallerand, Briere, Blanchard and Provencher (1997) and adapted into Turkish by Sezen Belçıkanlı (2010) were used in order to achieve the purpase of the research. MS Office Word (2016) and MS Office Exceel (2016) software were used to organize the data and make graphic and statistical tests were anylzed through SPSS 26 software. Descriptive statistics (frcquency percentage arith metic mean and standard deviation) were used to determine the socio demo graphic characteristics of the athlete students and fair-play orientation in the analysis of the data. Before the analysis of the data the normality test was applied to the data. The researcher preferred the Shapiro-Wilk test considering the number of the participants in the normality test. Mann Whitney U test was used for painwise compaisons of vertiere that did not have normal distribution and Kruskal Wallis was used for group comparisons of 3 or more. As a result of the analyzes there was a significant difference between the fair-play orientations of the participants according to the variables of gender school type sport branch year of doing sports and level of sportsmanship but no significant difference was obscrued according to the variables of age family economic status and living enviroment.
