Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to examine peer bullying among high school students between the ages of 14-19 and its relationship with academic perseverance, self-regulation and demographic variables. The research is a descriptive study in the relational screening model. The sample of the research consists of 413 students studying in different types of high schools. The data of the research were collected from the "Peer Bullying Identification Scale (Adolescent Form)" developed by Ayas & Piskin (2015), the "Self-Regulation Skills Scale for Adolescents" developed by Kasıkcı & Ogulmus (2023), Sagkal et al. (2020) and the Personal Information Form prepared by the researcher. The data obtained was analyzed using SPSS 26.0 program. T test, ANOVA test, Pearson Correlation Analysis and regression were used in the analysis process. According to the findings obtained as a result of the analysis, peer bullying varies significantly according to gender and high school type. Apart from this, it has been found that self-regulation skills differ according to gender, type of high school, education level of the mother and father, and economic status of the family. Similarly, a significant relationship was observed between academic perseverance and gender, high school type, grade level, the strength of the emotional bond with the father and the economic status of the family. According to the data obtained, academic perseverance negatively predicts peer bullying. While self-regulation and academic perseverance had a negative relationship with the sub-dimensions of bullying, a positive relationship was observed between academic perseverance and self-regulation.
