Abstract (EN)

In this research, we aimed to examine the relationships between perfectionism, need satisfaction and psychological well-being among the high school students. Under the research perfectionism and need satisfaction effects on psychological well-being were examined. Another aim of this research is to investigate gender and grade level differences in perfectionism, need satisfaction and psychological well-being scores. This study was consisted 928 students which from different high school type from different districts in Izmir provision in the 2015-2016 academic year. In this research, The Child and Adolescent Perfectionism Scale, Needs Satisfaction Scale, Psychological Well-Being Scale and Personal Informational Form were used. Data was processed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS version 22.0 for Windows). Pearson bivariate correlations, multiple regression analysis (method stepwise), t-test analysis, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and effect size analysis were used to statistical analysis. As a result of the research, significant relations were determined between perfectionism, need satisfaction and psychological well-being. Also findings in this research revealed that relatedness, competence, autonomy and self-oriented perfectionism are significant predictors of psychological well-being. These variables explained %46.8 of total variance on psychological well-being. Socially-prescribed perfectionism, competence and psychological well-being levels indicated significant differences according to gender. Competence and psychological well-being significant indicated differences according to grade level. These findings were discussed in the light of the findings of previous research in the literature.
