Abstract (EN)
In this study, the impact of social media use on the human values of high school students was examined. The research was conducted during the 2022-2023 academic year with a survey administered via social media to 674 students from three high schools in Zonguldak city center, selected through simple random sampling. To determine students' perceptions of human values on social media, the Cyber Human Values Scale (CHVS) developed by Kılıçer and the Social Media Addiction Scale for Adolescents (SMASA) prepared by Özgenel were used. The data obtained from applying these scales to the sample group were analyzed using the SPSS-27 program. As part of the analysis, Independent Samples T-Test, One-Way ANOVA, non-parametric Kruskal Wallis-H analysis, and Pearson Correlation analysis were conducted. At the end of the research, it was found that as the duration of social media use increased, the scores of high school students on certain sub-dimensions of the human values scales decreased. Based on the findings, various recommendations were developed.
