Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the relationship between social support, self-esteem, and level of hope among high school students. Furthermore, any meaningful difference in high school students' levels of hope has been analyzed in the contents of this study based on demographic variables such as gender, class school type, number of siblings, family income per month, parents' marital status, and family environment. The study group of this research consists of by 725 high school students from eight different high schools in the district of Siverek in Şanlıurfa Province. The researcher's Personal Data Form, the Integrative Scale of Hope, the Scale of Multi Dimensionally Perceived Social Support, and the Rosenbeg Self-Esteem Scale were used to collect data. The SPSS 22.0 program was used to analyze the data in the studies. In the analysis of the data, simple linear regression and multi linear regression for the predictions for hope in view of self esteem and the perceived social support level was in use while Pearson correlation analysis was used to scrutinize the relationship between the hope, perceived social support and self-esteem t-tests Kruskal Wallis H - Test and one-way variance analysis were conducted for the distribution of the hope scores and independent sampling purposes. In this study, it was concluded that the hope scores of high school students were predicted in the most meaningful way based on the perceived social support level, and the respective order of significance of the scale's sub-dimensions was the social support perceived to be provided by families, social support from someone special, and social support from friends. In this study, it was also discovered that self-esteem scores are a significant predictor of the level of hope. When compared to social support and self-esteem, which are thought to be independent variables, it has been observed that self-esteem has a far greater influence on the prediction of hope. According to the study's other findings, variables such as gender, class, type of school, number of siblings, and parents' marital status have no meaningful impact on hope scores. There were significant differences in hope scores based on the families' monthly incomes and perceived family environment. As a result, it can be argued that the higher the socioeconomic level, the greater the level of hope. The hope scores of high school students from democratic, moderate, and perfectionist-rule-based families were found to be significantly higher than those from peremptory-strict, conflicting, and uncomfortable families. The findings obtained through the study have been discussed in light of the literature and recommendations have been presented to the researchers and implementers. Keywords: hope, perceived social support, self -esteem, positive psychology
