Relationships between features of creative pesonality and five factor personality in high school students

The aim of this study is to analyse whether personality is related to creativity; if so what kind of relationship there is. In the first part of this study literature scanning on personality and creativity was conducted; the views of the scholars and the theoreticians were included. 235 students who were studying in 4 different high schools such as Vocational High School, Anatolian High School and Imam Hatip High School in Eyüpsultan and Esenyurt provinces in İstanbul took part in the research. The five-factor Personality Scale short form and creativity scale in Turkish language, whose validity and reliability were tested, were used in the field of personality and creativity as a data collection tool. A total of 228 questionnaires were analyzed by SPSS program. The relationship between the five-factor personality traits and creative personality traits was investigated and it was evaluated whether there was a difference in the dependent variable levels between the groups formed on the basis of socio-demographic information. As a result of the study, there were positive and meaningful relationships between sex, mother education status, sibling ranking, book reading, traveling, puzzle solving, liking of numerical, verbal and equal weight areas and 5FPS sub-dimensions and creativity scale scores. In addition, no significant relationship was found between the variables such as grade level, housing type, father's level of education, monthly income, number of siblings, number of friendly friends, membership of social groups, and scale scores. The findings were compared and discussed with the literature.
